The Aam Aadmi Government in Delhi led by Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal is completing one year of its being in power this month. It is time to for a stock check and for a fair analysis of the performance versus promises in Delhi.
It was Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP Government, at its notorious best when during their first term; they fully demonstrated their anarchist role while tackling various issues of public interest in the most bizarre manner!
AAP like horse gone berserk
Now, during the present term, while Arvind Kejriwal has proved himself to be a dictator, the party is functioning like a horse gone berserk. The over-ambitious Arvind Kejriwal is behaving like the Prime Minister of the country. This has led the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi to function in a most undemocratic manner.
Gagging media like Emergency
We recalled that not long ago, the Delhi administration issued a circular which threatened the media that defamation cases will be registered against them if they criticise the Delhi Government. This was an Emergency-like situation for the media, though the Supreme Court later stayed the move.
Kejriwal also alleged that the media had taken a ‘supari’ to finish AAP. Not long ago, the Chief Minister had benefitted from the same media’s coverage of him and his party. This is how he came into the limelight and eventually received a huge mandate to rule Delhi.
An insensitive CM
What AAP has done in the name of farmers’ rally is the lowest level of politics wherein Gajendra Singh’s suicide in the presence of thousands of AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, was the death of humanity. This was another attempt of embarrassing the Centre, which turned into a catastrophe.
The one year of Kejriwal is a year of paradoxes as he has negated the same values for which he had built the party brick by brick and is now demolishing the same step by step. What an irony? A fair analysis of Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party would be the very fall of edifice on which the party had been built giving gullible masses hope only to be belied in totality. It is like an opportunity wasted and people’s aspirations belied. Ideally, Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal should have begun on a slow but steady, positive note to gradually come up to public expectations and not to shatter their dreams with a single blow in the very first year of coming to power.
Indeed it is rightly said that power corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely and the lines fully apply to Arvind Kejriwal.
