The Income Tax Department has unearthed the biggest crime by the health minister of Delhi, Satyendra Jain who transferred money through ‘hawala’ channel.
The IT department officials had claimed that they had received records of certain financial transactions connected to Jain after their counterparts in Kolkata recently searched a firm in connection with a tax evasion and alleged illegal financial remittances case.
The department had also reportedly recovered documents relating to some transactions being made by at least three firms and had a link to Jain. As per the information, at least Rs 16 crore transferred through the illegal transaction.
The Income Tax Department called the Delhi health minister and grilled him for three hours. When Jain was coming out from the office of IT, the volunteers of the Aam Adami Sena also sloganeered and protested.
When he was coming out from the office, a woman hurled slipped at Jain. The woman who claimed she was hurt by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks on India’s anti-terror strikes across the Line of Control.
